WebSite
Links
Here is a list of some websites that my clients and I have found to be
helpful in the quest for peace in life.
The Happiness Trap
I
highly recommend this book for anyone interested in an easy to follow
instruction on how to do ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy).
This website also has tons of helpful worksheets and other
information to learn how to stop struggling and live a meaningful life.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy Website
Though this site is a bit difficult to sort through, it has an
incredible amount of information on it about ACT and the theory behind
it (Relational Frame Theory). Much of is it available for free.
If you are really interested in ACT, join ACBS (dues are based on
your own values, what you think it is worth to you) and see all of it.
Wynyfryd's Meditation Room
I really love this site! Wynyfryd is a person who has used
meditation in her own life for many years. She wanted to get
some
guided meditations for her father when he was very ill in the hospital,
but she could not find any for free on the web. So she made
some.
There are about 14 or so really good meditations on here
which
you can listen to or download for free. These are great for
relaxing when you are too anxious to sleep or just as a regular
practice to learn how to calm your mind when you have all those
irrational thoughts racing around in there.
Joanne Steinwachs, LCSW
This is another ACT therapist. Her website has a really cool
online values clarification exercise called Life Compass Cards.
Chaco Canyon Consulting - Rick Brenner
There is a ton of
information on this site regarding how to handle stress, politics, work
relationships, and more. It is listed here because Rick was also
trained at the Satir Institute of Southeast and applies many of the
same concepts to the business world as I do to therapy with couples,
families, and individuals.
Health and Goodness
This site is full of articles and products for alternative
healing. They have some interesting relaxation and meditation
CD's.
